UTEE Video

Tuesday, December 9 2008 by artylicious

I have a new video for you showing you exactly how I have made my Stampbord UTEE pieces.  Basil was a complete prima donna and walked off set when he found out there was no fresh tuna on offer.  In fact, he showed his disgust by scratching around underneath the table at one point and you can actually hear him give a faint pathetic mew, presumably in the hopes that you will all immediately report us to the RSPCA for failing to feed him in the style to which he has become accustomed.

Anyway, the video had to be split in two as YouTube has a time limit restriction on the length of an individual video.  So here’s the first part:

and here’s the second:

Hope you enjoy them, and as I said at the end – have a go for yourself!

    Hi Glenda,

Great technique! I now need to buy the rubber stamps, the UTEE and some long handled tweezers! Could you use Mica powders for the same sort of effect? I’ll have to try, but I’m not sure they’d stick in the same way….

Thanks for this – I love the videos – and I totally agree with some of the above comments!!

I recieved an award on my blog the other day and I want to pass it on to you for all your hard work, inspiration and enthusiasm that you share with us all. It is over on http://www.billiescraftroom.wordpress.com

I did re read your previous comments on your feelings towards awards before posting this and totally understand your not wanting to pass it on. That’s just fine. Just know that your hard work is appreciated.

I will also understand if you would prefer to delete this comment to prevent being inundated with such awards ;) no worries

    Best wishes

    Billie :)

Thanks for the latest superb tutorial videos. It really makes me want to have a try of these techniques. The finished pieces look wonderful with the pearly powders on.

    Dear Santa

Please can you add Black UTEE to my list ;)

    hugs

Great demo. I would never have thought of pressing into a wet wipe to clean up and fix the pearly powders. Thank you!

Oh these are really good videos Glenda, Adrian and Basil!!
I can sense you’re becoming more relaxed about doing it and it’s really easy to watch. Your hair also looks fab, Glenda, might I say?
I almost daren’t compare this to IW in case they’re still sneaking in to read your blog and I don’t want to cause any problems for you but may I just say – no contest!

You and Adrian really are very talented people. You as a teacher of your chosen field and Adrian as a cameraman extraordinaire! Another two excellent tutorials. Thankyou both

Great videos Glenda – wondered if Perfect Pearls could be used – suppose I just need to have a try with them :) Hope you hand is healing ok.

Thank you for another great tutorial. Basil seems to be training for a postion as a sound effects technician. Neat bandage btw, hope the hand is healing well. I don’t have any black UTEE, but I am off to try using some black ink to colour my stampbord and then the clear and a final coat of regular black EP over the top – who knows it might work!

Thank you Glenda, two more excellent tutorials.

You asked for other ideas for demos, what about different kinds of ink on different surfaces, I can never remember what to use where, except for Stazon.

    Love Val

Another great tutorial Glenda. I agree the black UTEE looks great – I need to add it to my wish list. I fancy having a go with the Klimt bauble set for a pendant – I think it could work really well. So many ideas – so little time – I need to give up the day job but then how could I pay for my serious craft habit!

Hope the hand is healing well too.

Wow, Glenda! Who needs “Ideal World” —- this is so much better! No interruptions by presenters, no stock updates & plenty of time for us to absorb what you are doing. “Thanks!” yet again for sharing your brilliant ideas & methods with us; you are truly a very thoughtful & generous lady.

Another couple of great tutorials Glenda but what a shame Basil has gone camera shy!

Like a wee parrot here, echoing the above comments – even to the point of watching the blooper video again haha It does give me the giggles. Then I ran all the way to the website and ordered some of those gorgeous pearly powders. Many thanks for taking the time to make these superb tutorials. They are very much appreciated :)

Brilliant, thanks so much for sharing this, Glenda. I can see that I need black UTEE as it is gorgeous as a base colour. I hadn’t realised about trimming off the edges, I thought I was just doing too many layers of UTEE and there was nothing I could do about the smooshing. Can’t wait to re-visit this technique.

Thanx 4 yr latest vids. They are great as usual.
Although I have used UTEE before, hadn’t thought about the pearly powders. Could I use perfect pearls in the same way?

  21. on Tuesday, December 9 2008 at 4:37 pm mustavcoffee

I’ve just watched both tutorials, brilliant again, Thank you all. Couldn’t help watching the bloopers as well! Great fun! I’m all inspired now, to go and get creating again. I wonder what else you can put into the UTEE?!
My stampbord stash is dwindling now although I had trouble initially getting the balance of my cards right, it’s pretty heavy stuff and they kept falling over. A piece of extra card on the back did the trick!
