I’m sure you & your Laylandii wont even notice the difference. They grow like mad. Your bunneh’s will have a pine fresh breath too.
I did away with the huge Laylandii hedge I had at the bottom of my garden last year, as the grew quicker than I could trim… that’s an understatement, I should say chop, lop and saw, lol.
My garden is now a lot bigger and brighter too without them.
Maybe you could build them a platform so they can save you that top “trimming” job too.
I remember being in pain each time after I trimmed mine.
My arms looked like I’d been fighting with my cat with the “nippy” scratches this gave me, even with sleeves and gloves.
I don’t miss them at all.
